Orkney 2025 suggests that spectators and visitors to the Games begin their search for accommodation at Orkney.com which provides a host of information about visiting Orkney.
There is also a Facebook page for accommodation requests (excluding teams requests).

Accredited Delegates
Orkney 2025 is obliged to accommodate accredited delegates including competitors, media and team officials. Using experience from previous Games we have chosen to use an accommodation handling agent, Nirvana Europe, to manage, contract and allocate this accommodation. They will have a range of packages to choose from and we will let Member Islands know as soon booking opens.
Please be aware that due to the limited accommodation on our small island, it will not be possible to accommodate entire Member Island teams together. The allocation of accommodation to each Member Island will be based on its delegation size and requirements. Decisions will be made fairly and in consultation with the Member Islands. The OC will have final decision on the allocation process.
Due to inflation and the Games taking place over peak season when Scottish schools are on holiday, prices mentioned here are a rough estimate and should be used only as a guide.
Hotel
We will be offering a range of rooms at hotels in Kirkwall, Stromness and across the Orkney Mainland.
Single, twin or triple rooms (1, 2 or 3 single beds in each room)
Doubles (1 bed for 2 people) are available and should be specified when booking
Breakfast will be included in the price and provided by the hotel
Bed & Breakfast / Guesthouse
This package will be similar to the Hotel option, but with rooms provided in smaller establishments. Rooms will be offered across Orkney’s Mainland including Kirkwall and Stromness.

Doubles (1 bed for 2 people) are available and should be specified when booking

Self-Catering
There are many self-catering units in our two towns and across Orkney’s Mainland. These will represent a great option for the smaller teams and for those who do not wish to use dormitory accommodation.

Doubles (1 bed for 2 people) are available and should be specified when booking
No meals will be included within this package, but full cooking facilities will be available in the accommodation. There are supermarkets in Kirkwall and Stromness.
Hall of Residence
Existing, modern school halls of residence will be made available to delegates. This is a fantastic bright and modern facility close to the center of Kirkwall.
Twin, triple or quad rooms with 2, 3, or 4 single beds. Some beds will be luxury inflatable beds
Toilet and shower facilities will be either ensuite or close by
Lockable rooms
Breakfast and evening meal will be included
Dormitory
Dormitory accommodation will be offered in four schools across the Orkney Mainland: two in Kirkwall and two in Stromness. These will be a great option for the larger sporting teams such as Athletics, Football, and Gymnastics and in some cases will also offer the opportunity to be accommodated close to the sporting venues.
School classrooms will be converted into dormitories with luxury inflatable beds
Toilet and shower facilities will be made available, possibly outside
Lockable lockers for small high-value items may be provided
Wardrobes or chests of drawers will not be available
Breakfast and evening meal will be included
We suggest ear plugs and eye masks might make your stay more comfortable.
Please BRING A TOWEL as we will not provide one; all bedding will be provided.
Hostel
Several hostels that are used to accommodating travellers on a tight budget.

Space for 200 guests will be made available in these temporary, twin-roomed pods based at UHI Orkney in Kirkwall.
